The COVID-19 pandemic brought changes to people’s lives during the past years, and everyone has had to adapt to these new circumstances. As a result, compromises are being made - either in someone’s career, personal life, or both. Physical exercise is an important part of people’s lives, especially for those whose work or hobbies are involved in this area. It became harder to go to a gym, and lockdowns pushed the scenario of working out at home.
Usually, applications that help with physical exercise are directly presented to the people that work out as a hobby, providing several resources, from videos of individual exercises to complete plans. What is infrequent is an application that gives the instructor a platform to do their job remotely while maintaining all the features of a consumer-oriented app. Given the available technology, it is possible to create one that works as a service, through which any instructor can dynamically interact with their clients and the services provided to them but also provide full features to the clients, thus benefiting both groups.
This project aims to develop a framework, in the form of an android and web application, to help instructors provide their ministrations to people who wish to practice physical exercise at home. It is developed with the instructor’s point of view in mind, while never forgetting their client’s experience.
